24-Hour Television “LED Grand Performance” Appearance
On August 22, 2021, POI LAB appeared in the special segment “LED Grand Performance” on Nippon TV’s 24-Hour Television, performing alongside cast members from Hirunandesu and the LED taiko group Kowa -core-.
Theme: “Keeping the Flame of Entertainment Alive”
POI LAB created a torch relay performance using visual poi to represent the continuation of hope through entertainment during the pandemic. The performance featured a symbolic transfer of light, programmed and executed with precision to deliver an emotional and inspiring message.
Technical and Choreography Direction
The poi technique and choreography were led by Yuta and Asuka of POI LAB. Performers included Rinka Kumada and the comedy duo Pekopa (Shuhei and Shoinji), who trained enthusiastically despite their tight schedules. Each artist learned poi from scratch and gave an outstanding performance on stage.
Torch-Lighting by Nicole Fujita
The torch-lighting moment was performed by Nicole Fujita, with POI LAB adjusting the light flow to match her movement. Her profile, illuminated at the perfect timing, created a stunning and divine visual—truly a goddess moment on stage.
Rehearsal Day Group Photo
During the final rehearsal, POI LAB’s Taku managed the setup while Nakama-kun took a commemorative photo of the cast using the poi effects. His cheerful direction and warm presence helped bring out everyone's smiles, resulting in a photo that perfectly captured the team’s spirit.
A United Performance
The collaboration among Hirunandesu, Kowa, POI LAB, and all the staff resulted in a performance that radiated unity and emotional depth. The message reached audiences across the country, delivering smiles and energy at a time it was most needed.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone involved for making this unforgettable performance possible.
