Hikari – Guest Performance Film for Japan Juggling Festival 2020

uta participated as a guest artist in Japan Juggling Festival 2020, the largest juggling event in Japan.

Due to the impact of COVID-19, the in-person event was canceled and transformed into an online format connecting various locations across the country. The planned guest performances were also shifted to video submissions.

At one point, the guest performance itself was officially canceled. However, in late August, Yuta received a renewed request to participate.
Until September 4, he had been fully engaged in directing work for other productions, including the Dragon Ash live concert and the Touken Ranbu musical.
Actual production for the piece began on September 7, and within roughly ten days, he poured his energy into completing the work.
The result is a piece that brings together years of experience and creative exploration—a true culmination of his journey in both performance and visual storytelling.

The performance video, titled “暉 – Hikari”, showcases the full extent of Yuta’s skills and knowledge.
It reflects his deep commitment to capturing the trails of poi in the most beautiful way possible—something he has spent years refining.
The name “Hikari” was given not only for its meaning of “light,” but also in honor of his niece, born in May during the pandemic, whom he had not yet been able to meet.
